On October 7, 2016, the School Board, staff and students of Lucerne Elementary School District sent a letter to members of the Lake County Deputy Sheriff's Association for their recent donation of backpacks and school supplies to several of their needy students.
The donations were originally provided to the Lake County DSA by members of San Francisco's SAY (Sheriffs and You) Foundation, and included a total of 200 backpacks each filled with school supplies. These supplies were then delivered by Sheriff Brian Martin, Sergeant John Drewrey, President of the Lake County DSA, Shamus Stafford, Vice President of the Lake County DSA and patrol deputies, to each of the schools in Lake County where school administrators delivered them to needy students on campus.
This awesome effort was made possible through the continued outreach of the DSA to other jurisdictions, as well as the positive relationships which have been developed through the years.
Refer to the Lake County DSA website for additional information on the effects and the impact that this organization and its members have on the community.
Stay safe and continue to strive for the best.
Richard Kreutzer, Secretary of the Lake County DSA
